How do I get started using Roberts On-Line Photo Lab processing?
Roberts On-Line Photo Lab Processing is available only for PC computers at this time. To get started, pick up your free viewing and editing software at the Roberts Indianapolis Downtown store or Roberts Indianapolis North store. You may also download the viewing and editing software free of charge at www.robertsimaging.com. If your internet connection is dial up you may experience problems. DSL, cable, broadband, etc. work the best.

I have the Roberts On-Line Photo Lab Software up loaded on my PC. Now what do I do?
If you have an editing or viewing program you are familiar with, you may use it. After doing your editing, save your JPEG images to a folder you have created for upload to our On-Line Lab. Once you have saved your images to that folder you can use our viewer to move your pictures to our On-Line Lab. Click on the Roberts icon to start the viewer. You should see several icon options including "find", "camera", "fix", "order", "view CD", and "share". Clicking on any of these options will allow you to view your photos. A box will appear that says, "find and add photos". Inside this box the phrase "Find photos automatically"appears. We do not recommend using this auto function. This function will find all the photos on your hard drive. It is best to select your photos from folders or media cards, CD's etc. Once you have selected your photos, click on the "Buy Print" icon in the lower right corner of your viewer screen. The prompts will take you the rest of the way through the ordering and upload process.

I am a Mac user, will the viewing and editing software work on my computer?
No. At this time our viewing and editing software does not work on a MAC. However, you may still take advantage of our great Roberts On-Line Photo Lab service by saving your images as JPEG files to a folder. You can then upload your files to our web site using the "Order Prints" option located in the bottom left corner of the Roberts On-Line Lab page. Once you are there, you may log-in with your user name and password. When you see the option to "get photos" you may then move your images from your folder to the order page. You can then input quantity and sizes. Ordering Prints on Photo Finale on a MAC OSX Instructions

I am a Mac user and my shopping cart empties when I'm trying to place an order using Safari.
The Safari browser has been having some problems working with photo finale. Using the Firefox browser fixes this problem. Firefox is a free download at www.mozilla.com

Do I need to be a member?
Yes. You must be a member to log-in to the Lab system. There are different membership plans. We suggest you start with our free basic membership. You will need to provide us with some customer information. Your information will not be shared with any other companies or individuals. If you are already a Roberts customer we should have your information already. Every time you log-in to the Roberts On-Line Photo Lab your information will appear along with access to any of your photo albums.

What are the On-Line Albums?
You may post some of your images on the web in an album to share with family or friends. You may make your albums private with a password. If you want to share your vacation, team or group activities this is a great way to do it. Community albums may be shared with everyone. Private albums may only be shared by those who know your password. We recommend that if you want to post albums, you resize your images using the viewing software. You may do this easily with the "Album Share" icon. On-Line Albums have size limits and full size images will quickly use up your storage space.

How large of an order can I send?
We can handle order of several hundred prints of various size. We do recommend that you send large orders in smaller groups. This makes your upload time faster and easier to process.
  • Some of our On-Line customers like to group their orders by size, sending all 5x7's as one order, 8x10's as another order, etc.
  • We can handle files up to 8MB.
  • We recommend when ordering larger prints, 16 x 20 or larger, 6MB - 8MB files uploaded as separate orders.
  • We recommend JPEG files, but can accept TIFF. TIFF files will take longer to upload.

What are the coupon codes?
Roberts On-Line Photo Lab will be offering specials on On-Line Processing throughout the year. These specials will be listed on our web site, newspaper ads, flyers and other publications. The coupon code will appear in the advertised ad. When you place your On-Line order and proceed to check-out, a space for a coupon code will be available. You must type the coupon code as it appears. If entered correctly the discount will apply. These codes can by used On-Line only.

How will my pictures be cropped?
The length to width of most digital files is not exactly the same proportions as standard photo prints. Photos taken with "point and shoot" digital cameras are more square. A 4' x 6' printed from those files will crop on the 4 inch side, top and bottom. Heads or subjects close to the top of the frame, may be cropped. Images shot with digital SLRs, have the same proportions as film cameras and will print the same as film prints. Please remember: if you size and crop your images before you send them to us, YOU can see the cropping exactly. Our viewing and editing software will help with cropping proportions.

Where will my pictures be developed, and how do I get them when they are finished?
Your images will be processed and printed at either our Roberts Indianapolis Downtown Lab or Roberts Indianapolis North Lab. You may select which lab you would like to process your order. You may pick up your images at the location you choose or we can ship your order to your door. When we receive your order you will receive an order confirmation by email. When your order is complete, in most cases the same day, you will receive another email. If you have us ship your order, you will receive a shipment notification by email. Orders that are to be shipped must be pre-paid by credit card, or with your Roberts account. If paying by credit card you will need to provide us with your credit card information. Our site is secure. Your credit card information will be kept on file with your other customer information for future orders.
